How then shall we live?

As a Christian, how should I be living my life? I have to ask myself this question sometimes. In the middle of this crazy, fast paced world that we are living in, I still want my answer to remain the same - my life should be lived for God and for others. This semester I will be studying in Rwanda and Uganda, and doing mission work with Food for the Hungry. These next few months I want to make a drastic change in my life by living not for myself, but for others. Through my studies and my interactions I hope to find a new and better understanding of what it means to be a child of God. I want to leave with no question in my mind that there is so much more to my life than my own happiness. I want to make my Creator proud, by loving his children.

The Beginning!

Hey Everyone!
You may or may not have heard me talking about studying abroad in Africa this spring, but chances are you have at least heard me mention it...I've been dreaming about it and talking it up for almost a year now. I was interested in this great program through GoEd and the non-profit, Food For the Hungry. The program has its students studying in Rwanda and Uganda, going on a safari for spring break, and doing an internship with Food For the Hungry. It looks like an amazing semester, and I think it is a perfect fit for me.

Well.... I worried that after all that talk, this day would never come, but it did!

I GOT IN!

I just received my acceptance email :

"Congratulations!

We are pleased to announce that Food for the Hungry has selected you to participate in the Go ED. Africa Semester Study Abroad Program for Spring 2010."

WOW! Thank you to everyone who wrote me a reference, encouraged me, and prayed for me.

I decided to make this blog so that anyone who wants to can see how I am doing in the time before, during, and after my semester in Africa. I hope that you will pray for me and all of the people I will come into contact with.

Stay tuned!! Love you guys!
